Kevin Hobgood-Brown AM
Kevin Hobgood-Brown is the Managing Director of Clay International Partners. He has substantial experience in management and legal roles in the Asia Pacific region and has been based in Sydney, Australia since 1996. He was an international law firm partner for 18 years, with postings in Beijing, San Francisco, Taipei and Sydney.
He has handled investment projects throughout China and in almost all of Australia’s major Asian trading partners. Kevin managed a corporate advisory firm for 12 years which focused on mineral resources projects involving China and Australia.
Kevin was the Deputy Chair of the Australian government’s Australia China Council for two three-year terms. He was the National President of the Australia China Business Council from 2005-2008. Kevin is a founding director and Chair of the not-for-profit Foundation for Australian Studies in China.
He serves on three university boards that focus on international education. He chairs the Advisory Board of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney and chairs the Advisory Management Committee of the Institute of Australian and Chinese Arts & Culture at Western Sydney University.
Kevin was named a Member of the Order of Australia in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2016 for his contributions to Australia-China relations, to tertiary education, to international business development and to the natural resources sector.
He has Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the United States and a Diploma in Chinese Law.
